Our heroine

On a recent trip to Kauai, Hawaii I learned all about the big waves on the North Shores of Kauai. I also learned all about a brave woman that I consider an inspiration, Bethany Hamilton. Not only does Bethany rip shit up she is one of the best female riders in big wave surfing! Surfing since she was 8, she unfortunately got bit by a 14 foot tiger shark on Halloween 2003 when she was only 13! She survived by losing her left arm and surviving 60% blood loss in her entire body. As if thats not enough to make her a hero, she got right back in the water to compete only 1 MONTH after losing her arm! With the waves she rides and her success as a female surfer we feel that is enough to make her exceptional. Throw the shark bite attack in and her will, courage and determination to keep riding so soon after her accident and I personally am just amazed by this woman. Bethany you really are a true role model. Keep up the great work girl!
